By-Laws for the Canyon Lake Roadrunner Club
Article 1. Name & Principle Address This club shall be known as Canyon Lake Roadrunners RV Club. The Current President’s home address will be used as the club’s address. 23720 Canyon Lake Dr N, Canyon Lake, CA 92587 is the Club’s principal address.
Article 2. Object Section 1. To have recreational vehicle trips and fellowship times. Section 2. This club shall be a Non-Profit Social Club. It shall not endorse any partisan political candidate for public office, or the policy of any political party. Section 3. The club shall endeavor to maintain its status as a "Sanctioned Club" in accordance with the rules of the Canyon Lake POA.
Article 3. Membership Section 1. Any person who is a Canyon Lake property owner, who owns a recreational vehicle or former member who no longer owns a recreational vehicle and is willing to abide by the rules of the club shall be eligible for membership. Section 2. A member in good standing is one whose dues are up to date and who abides by the club rules and has at some time in the past participated in club activities as an active member. Section 3. A member in good standing may nominate a person or couple, who do not live in Canyon Lake, for membership. Section 4. A member who does not abide by the rules of the Club or the CLPOA and who by some act or actions creates a situation that harms the Sanctioning of the Club will be considered to not be in good standing. Continued violation of rules or creating situations that are harmful to the clubs’ good standing in the community will be grounds for expulsion from the club.
Article 4. Finances Section 1. The Fiscal year shall be from January 1st to December 31st. Section 2. The club has an account at PNC Bank located at 31740 Railroad Canyon Road. The President and Treasurer manage the account and are the two signatures on the Account registration and Agreement form. A debit card is in the Presidents name and can be used by the Treasurer for club business. Section 3. The annual dues shall be determined by the Board of Directors and payable at or prior to the January meeting or when you become a new member. The Membership Chairman will collect the dues and turn over the funds to the Treasurer. Article 5. Officers and their duties The officers of the club are President, Treasurer, Secretary and Membership Chairman. The officers shall serve one-year terms. Section 1. President The President shall be selected each year by a vote of a majority of the members or by a volunteer if there is only one candidate. The President shall preside at all regular and special meetings of the club. The President shall appoint the Treasure, Secretary and Membership Chairmen. The President shall direct the Secretary to make an annual sign-up board for Dinner and Trip Committees. Section 2. Treasurer All club checks are to be signed by the Treasurer or the President. The Treasurer shall receive, receipts and deposit all monies of the club in the club bank account. The Treasurer shall pay all bills and shall keep accurate accounts of all income and expenditures and make reports of same at all regular club meetings Section 3. Secretary a. The Secretary will maintain the minutes of The Board of Directors meetings. b. The Secretary shall handle all correspondence for the club and its’ officers, including maintaining an updated membership roster. Mass emailing’s to the membership will be handled by the Secretary. The Files of he club will be stored and updated by the Secretary. Section 4. Membership Chairman The Membership Chairman shall receive all applications for membership, collect dues and transfer such payments to the Treasurer. The Membership Chairman shall also send new member information to the Secretary.
Article 6. Sunshine Chairman The Sunshine Chairman will be selected by the President and shall report at each club meeting on members' birthdays, sickness or deaths. The Sunshine Chairman shall send appropriate cards, flowers etc. approved by the President or immediate past President.
Article 7. Board of Directors The Board of Directors shall consist of the President, Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Chairman and a Past President. The President will preside over the monthly Board of Directors meeting that is held 30 minutes prior to the start of the monthly membership meeting. The Treasurer and Membership Chairman will present their monthly reports.
Article 8. Vacancies of officer posts Section 1. Vacancies of Treasurer, Secretary and Membership chairman shall be filled by appointment of the President. Section 2. Vacancies of the President shall be filled by a vote of a majority of the members or by a volunteer is there is only one candidate. Article 9. Meetings The regular meetings shall be on the second Tuesday of each month. The meeting date can be changed by vote of the Board of Directors.
Article 10. Authority Section 1. No group, committee or member of the Club shall enter any contract or shall incur any liability on behalf of the Club unless authorized by the Board of Directors. Section 2. Club business shall be conducted in accordance with these By-Laws. Article 11. Amendments These By-Laws may only be amended by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
Article 12. Dissolution of the Club The President with the approval of the Board of Directors shall present to the membership a motion for the dissolution of the Canyon Lake Roadrunners Club when either of the two conditions are met about the membership: 1. There are less than 25 members in good stranding 2. Less than 75% of the membership belong to the CLPOA.
When the membership vote is over 50% to end the club, the Board of Directors shall direct the Treasurer to: 1. Pay any outstanding bills. 2. Donate to the same organizations from the previous year. 3. Donate all remaining funds to the Canyon Lake POA Senior Center.
The Board of Directors shall direct the Secretary to send a letter to the POA informing them of the Canyon Lake Roadrunners RV Clubs’ decision to abandon their status as a Sanctioned POA Club.
